Preparation
Manuscripts should be typed in English, double spaced and singlesided on A4 sheets, and should be numbered beginning with the titlepage. Research papers should be divided into Abstract (up to 200words), Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion andReferences. The first page of an article should contain only (1) thetitle of the paper, the name(s) and address(es) of the author(s), (2)4--6 key words for indexing purposes, (3) a short title not exceeding45 letters and spaces, which will be used for page headlines, (4) thename and address of the author to whom correspondence and proofsshould be sent.
Tables and figures
Tables should be given short informative titles and should benumbered consecutively in arabic numerals. Tables must be typed onseparate sheets. Figures in a form suitable for reproduction shouldbe submitted separately from the text as original drawings in Indianink, or as high contrast, sharp unmounted photographs on glossy paper(about twice the desired size). Lettering on figures should beproportional to the size of the figure to ensure legibility afterreduction. On the back of each figure should be indicated lightly insoft pencil: (1) the top of the figure by an arrow, (2) the authorand figure number. All figures and tables should be citedconsecutively in the text and a list of short figure captions shouldbe provided at the end of the paper. CRC will be required to beprovided by the authors subsequent to its acceptance. CRC should beproduced following carefully the instructions supplied by the editor.If the author requires CRC to be produced by the editor, a nominalfee may be levied.
References
The Harvard system should be used for the references. In this system,names and dates are given in the body of the text and an alphabeticallist of references at the end of the manuscript. References in thetext should give the author's surname with the year of publication inparentheses. When reference is made to a work by two authors, bothnames should be given; references to works by more than two authorsshould give the name of the first author, followed by et al.,e.g. Smith et al. (1973). If several papers by the sameauthor(s) in the same year are cited, a, b, c, etc. should be placedafter the year of publication, e.g. Smith and Jones (1982a, b).
List of references
References to articles from journals should give in this order:name(s) of author(s), year or publication in parentheses, full titleof the article, title of the periodical, volume number, first andlast relevant page numbers, e.g.

References to articles from books (or to whole books) should give inthis order: name(s) of author(s), year or publication in parentheses,full title of the article, title of the book (volume number ifapplicable), initials followed by name(s) of the editor(s), name andlocation of the publisher, fist and last relevant page numbers, e.g.

If a publication is in press the reference should be made as completeas possible, stating the name of the journal and adding ``in press''.The list of references should be typed with triple spacing, and inalphabetical order of the first author's name. When a number ofpublications by the same author are cited the order should be (1)single-author references in date order, (2) two-author references inalphabetical order of the second author, and (3)et al.references in date order.
