The journal contains papers from theRussian-language journal Diskretnaja Matematika, the onlyjournal of the Russian Academy of Sciences devoted to this field ofmathematics. Discrete Mathematics and Applications covers various subjects in thefield such as combinatorial analysis, graph theory, functionalsystems theory, coding, cryptology, probability problems of discretemathematics, algorithms and their complexity, combinatorial andcomputing problems of number theory and of algebra. The journal is appearingbimonthly and simultaneously with the Russian edition as acover-to-cover translation. In future, original papers, not publishedin the Russian-language journal will be included in DiscreteMathematics and Applications. Issues contain, in addition to original articles and reviews in theabove mentioned subject areas, reviews of books published in andoutside Russia and information notes.
