At present, the theory of linear ill-posed problems is rather well developed. However, thetheory of nonlinear ill-posed problems --- of great importance for numerical applications, especially for solving inverse (coefficient) problems of mathematicalphysics --- is less welldeveloped. Although there are a large number of works devoted to nonlinear theory ofill-posed problems, there are few applications of this theory.
In this monograph the author tries to solve this problem by considering the widest class ofnonlinear equations and systems which play an important role in applications. For this classof equations the general regularization theory is constructed, and the problem of finite-dimensional approximations of regularized solutions is solved.
This monograph will be of value and interest to specialists in the field of ill-posed problems.
