Tissue cultivation is a methodological discipline of growinginterest in biomedical research. In addition to its essentialcontributions to contemporary concepts of cell biology, tumour pathologyand other fields, it yields model systems for biological andpharmocological research and is a frequent tool used in biotechnology.
