Investigations of the Tropical Atlantic Ocean

This book contains the results of research conducted by the MarineHydrophysical Institute of the Ukraine on the Soviet climatic RAZREZYprogram. Based on summaries and modelling of the in situ data, thetypical seasonal response of the main hydrophysical fields of theTropical Atlantic Ocean to seasonal wind fluctuations is described. Thebook also contains the kinematic structure of currents, heat and volumetransport and characteristics of their seasonal and synopticvariability, as recorded during the trans-Atlantic surveys, and spectralcharacteristics of the intra-tropical convergence zone variability inthe Tropical Atlantic Ocean.
