The International Conference on Advanced Composite Materialsand Structures, held in Taiwan, May 19--23 1986, was both a timely forum forevaluation of recent advances in this field and recognition of thesignificant role played by the development of composite technology incountries such as Japan, the Republic of China, South Korea, Singaporeand Hong Kong.
The topics discussed were analytical modelling, numerical calculation, material testing, non-destructive evaluation, design methodology, andprocessing and manufacturing aspects of composite materials andstructures.
This volume contains over 50 internationally contributed papers andcentres on the fundamental understanding ofprocessing--structure--property relationships for advanced compositeswith constituents made of metallic and non-metallic materials. Itprovides a broad overview of developments in the areas of compositefailure modes, interface effect, dynamic characteristics, test method, design analysis, predictive methodology, analytical evaluation, damagetolerance, environmental effects, materials characterization and theirapplications.
It will be of interest and value to those concerned with compositematerials research and development in both industrial and academicspheres.
