Festschrift on the Occasion of the 70th Birthday of Allan S. Hoffman

In celebration of Allan Hoffman's 70th birthday, a symposium entitledGels, Genes, Grafts and Giants was held in Maui in December 2002. Thissymposium, organized by The University of Washington EngineeredBiomaterials (UWEB) NSF Engineering Research Center, was a greatsuccess, with many excellent papers presented by scientists from allover the world.
All those who made oral or poster presentations at the symposium, butalso those who worked with Allan Hoffman in the past or worked insimilar research areas were invited to submit articles for specialissues of the Journal of Biomaterials Science, Polymer Edition.The special issues of the journal will also be published in onehardcover book (expected beginning 2005).
